The initial background (which was in light yellow and blue tones) was painted back in February, while I was listening to a lecture series on the sacred feminine across different religions. Then came another attempt in early summer—I changed the background to my usual dark tones.
And only now, after feeling freed from the commitments of my studies, was I able to return to the painting.
The main figures also changed colors along the way: at first, there were golden symbols in the center, which later transformed into white fish, and those eventually became purple.
The couple was originally a different shade as well, even having lilac-toned skin.
The woman was standing on a mountain, which later turned into a pyramid.
Towards the end, the title arrived. But it isn’t about the original creation; it is rather about transformation, altering what already exists, and crossing over to a different level (not higher or lower, but qualitatively different).
