She Surfaces

One of the aspects of the Berkana rune is transformation through death. A descent into the bog, where sunlight and the sounds of the world cannot reach—total dissolution and rebirth in a new state.

This is a metaphor for profound changes that demand time and stillness, when all energy is directed toward internal processes, undistracted by external activity.

Akin to a caterpillar in its chrysalis before transforming into a butterfly.

Something must die in its former shape, altering completely in order to be reborn in a different form.

The shattering of all perceptions of oneself, suspended in timelessness without answers, guiding lights, or guarantees.

The loss of every conceivable anchor, both external and internal.

Crumbling to dust in order to reassemble on a cellular level.

Turning from coal into a diamond.

She is surfacing. Her transformation is already complete. It is time to return to the surface.

To the light.
