Traditionally in September, it’s the ancestral mandala. Not deliberately, but during the Pitru Paksha weeks of ancestral reverence, this exact geometry is what ends up being painted. This time, it also coincides with an eclipse corridor. So the crocodile releasing the sun turned out to be quite fitting as well.
Overall, I just deeply missed paints, painting, and sacred geometry.
The mandala is built for 9 generations, which represents 511 family members. In the carousel, I’ll show what the piece looked like before all the connecting lines were drawn. And the sun was the last element to break free.
According to the internet, the Maya civilization believed the world rests upon a giant crocodile (that was me trying to figure out why a crocodile appeared to me in the first place).
