I have pieces that take a long time to paint—not that it feels hard or heavy, but rich, layered. A lot of energy, meaning, and personal processing goes into them.
And then there are pieces that are utterly effortless, simple as an exhale, just a letting go. They are very fast, bright, and transparent, with a minimum of symbols and signs. And every single time, I find myself surprised that it can be done this way, too.
